Instant karma awaits you!

The great communication age has left many of us feeling isolated from the real world as we interact with information and socialize with out smart phones and computers. So much of what we watch on youtube and the zuckerbook is slanted, exaggerated or just a plain hoax that it is rare to be moved by anything authentic and genuine.

I recently found a video that brought tears to my eyes. They weren't tears of sadness (well, there was an element of that also) but mostly I cried because I was reminded of some of the better things that make humans special.

The news is full of terrorism, hatred and vivid examples of declining civilization, but one small, brave man is doing his part to bring real compassion to you and me.

Troy Nguyen (pronounced "nween") is a Vietnamese man from Australia who first came to attention because of his HD video documentaries of authentic Vietnamese people and their environments. His popular youtube channel features drone and helmet cam tours of places you and I would never visit. We get to see people we would not otherwise meet and to share random vignettes of their lives.

But recently Troy did something different.

About a year ago, Troy began stopping his motorbike and speaking to Vietnamese children, asking about their daily lives and showing how they live. Occasionally he met children who were impoverished and disabled and, with the help of youtube viewers, gave cash donations to help their lives and that of heir families.

I am going to shut up now so that you can watch the latest video by Troy Nguyen. I warn you it is pretty graphic but you will see how this project of compassion has evolved.

If you are moved, as I was, by this video, there are several others on his channel that you can watch. And if you feel moved to help, you can make whatever contribution you can to his Paypal donation account or by Patreon.

Seriously, as we live our busy lives we become removed from opportunities to help each other. This is one way we can do something proactive about the mess the world is in, to accumulate some good karma.

In the big picture, we are all the same person, living individual lives through the superimposition of time. When you help another, you are truly helping yourself.

That's all.
